Kodandaram Speech Over Supporting RTC Employees Strike | TJS | CM KCR | Telangana News | YOYO TV
Flaying the state government for threatening the RTC employees for serving strike notice, Telangana Jana Samithi president M Kodandaram demanded that the government should resolve the problem by holding consultations with the employees’ union leaders instead of threatening the workers.
The TJS president was in Karimnagar town on Friday to attend the party workers meeting and welcoming people into the party. Speaking on the occasion, he reminded that Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) for which honourary president was Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao had served the strike notice for a legitimate increase of the wages of RTC workers. He alleged that the State government was responsible for the losses to the RTC over the years.
“Since the formation of Telangana state in 2014, there is no change in RTC except for the decline of the staff with the retirement of over 4,500 workers and no fresh recruitment and there is no additional new bus into the corporation,” he claimed. “The government is imposing heavy taxes on diesel in the State,” he said and added that the 50 % tax on diesel had burdened the RTC to run into losses.
Hoping that the strike would be averted by the state government by holding talks, he said that the state government would be held responsible if the RTC workers were forced to go on strike.
Demanding that the government run the RTC on the lines of Indian Railway, he found fault with the appointment of a retired RTC employee as its Managing Director instead of an IAS and IPS officer. TJS district president Gaade Innaiah and others were also present.
