Today is the eleventh anniversary of the tragic events of March 1 when ten people were killed during the clashes between the demonstrators and police in Yerevan.
PM Nikol Pashinyan addressed the nation saying it is extremely important to give a political assessment to what happened during the events.
“The chapter of resolving matters through violence is closed in Armenia. Our joint mission is turning Armenia into a country of law and justice, truth and values,” he said.
He invited everyone join a march from Yerevan’s Liberty Square toward the Myasnikyan statue to pay tribute to the victims of March 1.
The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, on Friday morning placed flowers at the monument.
Prosperous Armenia participated in the events commemorating the events of 1 March with its own march. The political party leader Gagik Tsarukyan expressed indignation when a journalist asked him about being interrogated as a witness in connection with the March 1 case. Tsarukyan said he had explained several times that he had nothing to do with the events that took place on 1 March and that nobody can find anything on him.
Bright Armenia, another opposition party in the parliament, also paid tribute to the March 1 victims on their own without joining any party.

ARMENIA CONDEMNS VERDICT
The Armenian foreign ministry condemned the verdict of the Azerbaijani court against Karen Ghazaryan, ruled in a vivid violation of the international human rights obligations.
“The real reason behind the state-orchestrated capture of Karen Ghazaryan is not a secret. However, those efforts will not succeed.
