The capsizing of luxury cruise liner, Costa Concordia, has dealt a double blow to the Italian island of Giglio.
Already reeling from the eurozone crisis, the island now faces a potential environmental disaster which the island's tourist-dependent economy would find hard to survive.
There are nearly 2,400 tonnes of heavy fuel oil and 200 tonnes of diesel aboard the Costa Concordia and salvage workers are preparing to pump fuel out of the ship.
Al Jazeera's Paul Brennan reports from Giglio Island, Italy.
