This 15 year old girl has never attended school and she say doesn't have any friends.
Doctors at the University of Miami are hoping all of that will change soon.
Next week, they'll remove this 16 pound tumor from her face.
((SOT: "Something that started as a small black bean on the tongue has turned into this huge tumor that's deforming her head."))
Surgeons say the Vietnamese girl has gone more than a decade without getting treatment for the benign growth.
It's made it extremely difficult for her to eat and speak. They say it also threatens to suffocate her.
((SOT: "She's really exhibited a tremendous will to cope with this over the years. It's really a testament to human adaptation."))
The surgery will take about 10 hours, and doctors say the tumor probably won't return after it's removed.
The patient says she looking forward to normal life that includes attending school once she recovers.
