Line and Color Quick Start Guide: [ Ссылка ]
In this video I take you through my process for drawing and coloring a quick character Illustration. I had two images I wanted to combine to try and further develop a project I am developing. I had a Goblin Character and this Birdfox creature and I wanted to put them together.
This type of simple illustration is what I label 'Character In Background' The focus is on a character, there is a background, the character is placed in the background (so not just an abstract image behind the character... there is some actual interaction) Understanding image complexity is key to making sure you can complete things in a set time period. This image took around two hours, which is pretty fast for the level of finish it has.

This image is a good example of adjusting and re-drawing to focus on a particular aim. I ended up having to keep tweaking both characters to get them feeling right. Often it takes time to learn to draw something how you imagine it. The subtle details can be real sticking points.
It's an art to figure out how much you should double down and keep re-drawing until it's right... and how much you should 'let go'. This is a constant dance we do as artists.
