Driving around shropshire to and from work during the cold weather ''the beast from the east''

This cold snap together with the snow it bought crippled most of the country. we just aren't geared up for this weather in this country or any weather in truth.

our councils don't have the money to shell out for equipment to deal with this sort of thing mainly due to government cutbacks and also most of the equipment needed to sort the country out would most of the time lay idle in sheds all over the place.

So for a week or so every few years its cheaper to let the country grind to a halt because of a bit of snow than to spend millions on equipment we just wouldn't get the full use out of
