Servings: 4
Ingredients:
~~~Fries~~~
4 large russet potatoes
2-3 Tbsp olive oil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
~~~Gravy~~~
4 Tbsp butter
2 cups beef broth
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
~~~Cheese~~~
1 cup white cheddar cheese curds
Directions:
~~~Fries~~~
1.) Preheat oven to 375 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.) Wash potatoes and cut into desired size fries.
3.) Place fries in a large bowl and allow to soak in cold water for at least one hour, but no more than 5. Drain, then dry potatoes very well using paper towels.
4.) Toss with the olive oil, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
5.) Bake for 20 minutes at 375 F, then increase temperature to 425 F and bake for additional 20 minutes, until fries are golden and crispy.
~~~Gravy~~~
1.) Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
2.) Reduce heat and slowly add in the beef broth, whisking consistently until you have reached your desired thickness. Mix in the onion powder, salt and pepper.
~~~Poutine~~~
1.) Place hot fries on a plate and top with cheese curds. Then pour the hot gravy over the fries and cheese, so that the cheese begins to melt. Serve hot. Enjoy!
