Since 1864, the Geneva Conventions regulate the law of war. They aim at protecting civilians, prisonners, the wounded and rescue staff.
A series of ten videos, broadcasted by the Swiss Radio Television (RTS) in April 2015, illustrates the work of several international organizations to promote the respect of these norms.
Four of them focus on the missions of the NGO Geneva Call, that engages with non-State armed actors for the respect of these humanitarian norms through dialogue and negotiation.
Each video addresses one of the organisation's main areas of work: landmine ban, child protection and the prohibition of sexual violence.
This video presents the NGO's action in Western Sahara, where it works to engage the Polisario Front, a separatist movement, in banning the use of landmines from its activities.
