Justerini & Brooks, AKA J&B, is scotch whiskey. In the 1970s they advertised their product in Italian films. After a while their presence in gialli became something of a staple and a cliche. If a character was getting drunk, likely you'd see the green bottle, yellow label, and red cap and "J&B" lettering.
