Meditation: Jeremiah 3:22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God.

As I read through this chapter, I wondered what what was going on in the mind of the Prophet; comparing Israel and Judah as sisters who had committed adultery with the same man against the Lord who loved them. First it was Israel who walked away from God and then Judah did the same. Even though Judah saw what happened to Israel as a result of her spiritual fornication with the devil. Later on, towards verse 22, Prophet Jeremiah speaks life unto Israel.

Let this hymn bring you hope whatever your situation might be, that even though you may have turned your back unto God and fell in love with the opposite of what God offered you, when you turn back to the Lord, you will find healing and life.

What is most important is for you to ask yourself, "where am I Lord?" Like the prodigal son of Luke 15, you too will receive a welcoming cleansing within and without. That welcome, begins with you accepting your responsibility to walk a difficult road back to the fold you left behind, and having that unshakable confidence that whatever you receive when you get home, is better than your freedom to share a meal with pigs. For being a slave in the Lord's house is a competitive advantage in the world to come. A pig's fodder doesn't always appear as it is read. But the way it makes you feel each time and every time you partake of it, you will know that it is what it is.

May God grant you the grace you may need to get to that place of realisation of what is on your plate and chose a right path back to God.
