Pilgrims bathe in the boiling hot sulphur water at Jamnotri or Yamunotri temple in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. This temple is prat of the Char Dham quad of the four more important temples at the sources of the Ganga and its tributaries.
A priest warms himself sitting next to the hot sulfur spring, while another priest conducts an arati or aarti prayer inside this temple which can be accessed by a fairly arduous walk to the source of the Yamuna river near Bandarpunch mountain and Kharsali village in Uttarakhand.
