PM Narendra Modi’s address to the US Congress received several standing ovations and applauses. Chants of ‘Modi, Modi' could be heard from members of the diaspora community. PM Modi has become the first Indian leader to address the joint session of the US Congress twice. The Indian Prime Minister received a rousing welcome in the House Chamber. PM Modi's address received about 15 standing ovations and 79 applauses. Many lawmakers shook hands with PM Modi, took selfies and also took his autograph.
