Depth sensors estimate depth between a foreground and background by being offset from the main sensor, and this process is called parallax. Theoretically, ultrawide cameras can do the same as long as they are parallel to the main sensor the same way depth sensors are positioned. This means depth sensors might just die out altogether. Even better is that this process between the ultrawide and main sensor is so basic that both flagship and budget phones can pull this off. Hopefully that high MP count on flagship phones can lead the UW camera to pull of better bokeh segmentation.
