All New 2025 Acura ADX PHEV: Review - Price - Interior And Exterior Redesign
In a recent preview of upcoming goods and corporate developments from Honda, there was a subtle hint of a new Acura SUV. Nevertheless, that brief mention shouldn't lead you astray: This new Acura will be hard to overlook. It will be the smallest and most affordably priced SUV offered by the manufacturer, falling between the RDX, the three-row midsize MDX, and the all-electric ZDX, which is set to be delivered soon. After a year or two of the revitalized Integra hatchback serving as Acura's entry-level offering, the new SUV is slated to take its place. Even though it will be more expensive than the Integra, the form guarantees larger sales volume.
Can you tell me which Acura model will be released next? What does it look like? On what precisely will it be based? While we are still awaiting an official announcement, we do have some clues. To begin, it is referred to as the "ADX PHEV" Acura has now verified that the name is indeed the "ADX PHEV" one, so we know it must be the former. We were under the impression that Honda had trademarked the "CDX" brand.
The HR-V, Honda's affordable crossover (below), will likely serve as an inspiration for the styling of this SUV. The CDX, a stripped-down version of the HR-V from the previous generation, was the entry-level Acura SUV that was sold in China before.
Therefore, the Honda HR-V will most likely serve as the basis for the 2025 Acura ADX PHEV. An upgraded take on the current Honda Civic hatchback, the Integra (not to be confused with the CDX offered in China) has a more plush cabin, unique powertrain choices not found on the standard Civic, and a striking exterior design. A little SUV that borrows heavily from the Civic, the HR-V has a more robust exterior and adds all-wheel drive as an aftermarket option. We fail to perceive any rationale for Acura not to employ the identical strategy for the also-entry-level ADX PHEV, considering the outstanding Civic family's respectable foundation for the class-above Integra.
We constructed a model of the ADX PHEV using the HR-V's body shell, and it's not bad. Compared to its dumpling-shaped predecessor, the most recent HR-V is more angular and has a lower profile; the only design issues are the long front and back overhangs and the aggressive grille. With its attractive controls and sleek dashboard inspired by the Civic, the cabin is passable.
