The biologist Peter Beach, of Portland, Oregon, videotaped a modern pterosaur on New Britain Island, Papua New Guinea, on March 25, 2015, in the presence of Milt Marcy, a businessman from the Portland, OR, area. The two American explorers had flown into the jungle interior by helicopter and had then set up a viewing stand where they had a great view of the surrounding jungle.
Both men later testified of the features and form of the flying creature, giving their opinion that it was a living pterosaur (commonly called, in some Western countries, 'pterodactyl' or 'dinosaur bird'). Larger than any eagle, the flying creature had claws on the wings, and Peter Beach described it with the word 'leathery'.
The American eyewitness Harriet Sconce said that the one she had seen there, many years earlier, at a close distance, had a head crest, a long beak, no feathers, and a big wingspan. While being interviewed by Milt Marcy, she said of her encounter 20+ years earlier, "I was actually terrified." In addition, a pterodactyl sighting there by Steve Sconce is mentioned briefly in this video.
This mini-documentary could have been titled "Pterodactyl in a Jungle", and an earlier version of this Youtube video had a similar title. The present video is the second in a series about the wonderful pterosaur sighting on New Britain Island in 2015. To get more of a background on this, you should see pterodactyl video #1: [ Ссылка ]
This is part two in the video series on this sighting deep in the jungle of the island of New Britain. It includes stabilized and magnified images of the apparent pterosaur. The recording in the jungle was made under trying conditions, and Peter Beach had gotten up from his sick bed to grab a camera to capture the flying creature on video. Unfortunately, the sun was in his eyes, and the camera he had did not have a viewfinder that would have allowed him to keep the thing in view while zooming in.
The cryptozoologist Jonathan Whitcomb, a former forensic videographer, supports the credibility of both Milt Marcy and Peter Beach: "These are honest and objective men who have impressed me with their credibility."
Whitcomb also supports the credibility of Harriet Sconce: "I see nothing in her videotaped interview that would have given any problem for her case, if she had given similar testimony on the witness stand in a court of law."
