So, the Nikon Z7 II / Z7II launched in December, and I rented one to give it a proper test! What a camera!
This is undoubtedly the pinnacle of Nikon's Z system at the moment. And my Z7II review sees me talk about the ergonomics, sensor quality, features of the camera plus detailed analysis of the autofocus performance.
I use my Atomos Ninja V to record the viewfinder so you can see what I see and how Eye AF works alongside other focus modes. I also include video clips recorded in camera - including 4K 60 8bit video recorded internally and 10bit NLog at 4K 30 recorded with the Ninja V.
This camera is incredible and the clarity of the images, when paired with top Z mount lenses is utterly sublime.
I paid for the rental of this camera out of my own pocket, so please do keep in mind this is a totally unbiased review. For reference I rented the camera from Wex Rental in the UK and the Z7 II was brand new when I tested it - literally a shutter count of 0.
I also use the Nikon Z6 II so will be sharing a full comparison of the two cameras in the coming weeks, alongside more detailed reviews of some of the lenses I used that I haven't actually reviewed before, including the 85mm 1.8 S and 24-70mm 2.8 S.
The video was shot with the Nikon Z6 II. With all video footage shot on the Z7 II where indicated.
Please do like comment and subscribe, it really helps me out and I really appreciate it!
