Having completed his mission, Spendius discovers his efforts were in vain. Hannon has pushed the mercenary army away from Carthage and the Etruscan warriors are being held back by their superstition.

Rather than wait to be slaughtered, Spendius takes matters into his own hands. After convincing the soldiers of his ability to lead, he takes control of Autharites troops and re-engages Hannon.
