Trump's first impeachment - 2020
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., questioned George Kent, deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, and Bill Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, in the first public hearing in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump. Krishnamoorthi noted during his questioning that Taylor used the word "concern" 13 times in his opening statement to the House. He also asked Taylor whether "irregular channels" of diplomacy could be happening in other countries. The probe centers around a July phone call in which Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. Both Kent and Taylor testified to lawmakers in October behind closed doors.
