New York based Shen Yun Performing Arts which showcases traditional Chinese dance and music live on stage has just touched down in Sydney, the third stop on their 2015 Australian tour.
The performance, which features the world’s foremost classically trained dancers accompanied by a live orchestra, gives theatregoers a taste of China’s 5,000-year-old culture.
[Connie Squatriti, Bridal Wear Designer]:
“Oh the dancers are amazing, I wish I could move like that, they were beautiful. All of them.”
[Alison Hay, Executive Assistant, Mulpha Group]:
“I’ve seen productions like that in China but nothing to this extent. The colours, the lights, the performance was just amazing.”
[Maritsa Dragonas, PR Manager, Palazzo Collezioni]:
“It’s very visual. And like Michael said, it’s very interactive, you feel like you’re there, and you feel like you’re almost on stage.”
[Eva Melhelm, University Lecturer]:
“I was really really impressed, very powerful and combined a lot of soft colours and very powerful music and depicted beautiful scenery. It was very very…I enjoyed every minute of it.”
[Kate Johnson, Mrs Australia International 2014]:
“It’s so elegant it’s so divine. It was the perfect blend of technology and dance and I feel so entirely liberated walking out, it was fantastic.”
[Maia Liakos, Fashion Editor]:
“For me, working in fashion, I was mesmerised by the costumes, the colours and the way they moved. It was beautiful.”
[Peter Serano, Beauty Pageant Coach]:
“I was really impressed by the diversity that the Chinese culture has, and a lot of people probably aren’t aware of that so I got a real education tonight, not just education but I was really entertained too.”
[Luca De Leonardis, Hong Kong Government Official, ANZ Region]:
“It's fantastic, it’s sensational and I will recommend the show to everybody to all my friends and high contacts, they should come, they must come to see the show.”
[Michael Chard, Director Palazzo Collezioni]:
“Overall: loved it. And I recommend it.”
