We've noticed a lot of sensor-making companies doing a refresh on their offerings at the end of this year, and we are here for it! The TE HTU31 is the next-gen version of the very popular HTU21D, which, whaddyaknow, we even make a breakout for ([ Ссылка ]). The original '21 version of this sensor came with +/-3% RH tolerance @55% RH which has improved in the HTU31 series to a typical accuracy of ±2%RH and ±0.2°C which makes it an excellent sensor for all sorts of environmental uses at a very attractive price of about $2 each in quantity.
Things we like about this sensor: it's got a easy to pick-and-place package, 3 to 5V DC power input and GPIO compatibility, data comes in over I2C with a CRC and is easy to calculate the final temperature/humidity. There's just enough extras and knobs to be useful: soft reset, oversampling, heater enable/disable, unique serial number, but not so many it's overwhelming. It does what it says and without a lot of fuss! We were able to get it working with our Arduino-compatible in about an hour ([ Ссылка ])
While the package is the same size as the HTU21, the pinout has changed. There's now a hardware reset pin and address-select pin, so you can pick from 2 addresses (or, say have two sensors on one bus). At the time, as of this writing, there's no version with the PTFE filter on top, which we really liked on the HTU21 - hopefully that version will come along shortly.
This sensor also comes in an analog-output version, the HTU31V. ([ Ссылка ]). We find this interesting because we don't usually see analog-output sensors. The analog version comes in the same package, can run from 3 to 5V and has two ratiometric outputs - so as long as your ARef is the same as the power pin, you'll have as much precision as your microcontroller provides on an analog input. Could be useful for instant-feedback systems that you don't want a microcontroller involved in.
The HTU31D are in stock right now, available in both reels of 400 pcs ([ Ссылка ]) and also reels of 150 pcs ([ Ссылка ]) - same product just different final packaging. TE makes very fine sensors, so pick up a few today for delivery.
