In March 2013, on the day which commemorates the death of the proclaimed Italian director Antonio Guerra, Alexander Kostov translates and shares on Facebook one of Guerra's most touching stories. The story tells of the Italian tradition of a 'caffe sospeso', known as suspended or pending coffee, an initiative which allows people to pay in advance for a coffee for those in need. This tradition originates from Naples and dates back to more than 150 years ago, but since 20th March 2013, it has swept over the entire globe and inspired thousands of people to participate in this charitable act.
''Suspended Coffee': A charity in suspense'' follows the development of the charitable movement from its very beginning to its current state on the territories of Bulgaria and the UK and raises questions of the way it is perceived now, in 2014, a year after it began.
This documentary is a final university project and should be used only for screening purposes.
