Could we search in different ranges using INDEX and MATCH?
We need to bring table two beneath table one virtually.
To facilitate building the formula, we’ve named the ranges that we use.
Now, let’s start building the formula.
Type =INDEX(
Type {Fruits;Vegetables}
To create a virtual range.
Set the row to 1.
Set the column to 2.
Press Enter.
It returns the price of the first item in the virtual range.
Now, our mission is to make the row number changing dynamically.
Delete the row number.
Type MATCH(
Select the value to look for.
Type {NFruits;NVegetables}
To create a virtual range.
Type 0 to find an exact match.
Press Enter.
It returns the price of the selected item.
To find the total, multiply the price by the quantity.
Copy the formula down.
