A robber gets more than he bargained for when his victim pulls a knife and cuts the would be thief.
Jerry Spencer was arrested at Rice and Mulberry Streets just three hours after he had been released from jail. Officials say Spencer held up a man at knifepoint while the victim was waiting at a bus stop.
Sergeant Michael Machenheimer was driving through Over the Rhine when the victim flagged him down.
I was riding westbound on East McMicken and I was flagged down by a gentleman who said he was just held up at knifepoint and twenty dollars was taken.
Spencer got away, but as he ran the victim pulled his own knife and injured the thief in the neck area.
Spencer went to McMicken Dental Care Center for treatment and the dentist offered to drive him to the hospital. He refused but not before offering to sell the dentist some marijuana.
Jerry Spencer will be in court for aggravated robbery Friday. He was previously in jail for aggravated possession of drugs and possession of a counterfeit controlled substance.
