Both speakers are in a Mesa Rectifier 2x12. Both were mic'd with an SM57 done where, in my limited recording knowledge, thought it sounded best. The amp is a Peavey 6505 with a bias mod (V1 = Tung Sol 12AX7, V2 = Penta Labs, V3,V4, V5 = Groove Tubes 12AX7C). Power tubes are Ruby 6L6GCMSTR.
The guitar I'm using is a cheapo LTD M-10 with a Seymour Duncan Pegasus running into a EHX East River Drive.
It's just a riff from Gojira's Toxic Garbage Island (they own the rights) to show people what the two speakers sound like when theyre mic'd up, as people have been saying that the Governor is a Vintage 30 without the harsh mids. Make that decision for yourself. I can tell you that the Governor has a lot more bass and not so sharp high end. With the Vintage 30 in the same cabinet the amp has more balls and is a bit smoother. Overall, I actually think it's a pretty good combo in that cabinet.
Oh, and all the tracks are totally raw, no post-eq. Also, sorry about the sloppy playing.
