Cyclone Yaas has left a trail of destruction in Odisha's Balasore and Bhadrak districts where the severe cyclonic storm made landfall on Wednesday morning and continued to wreak havoc for a few hours. Trees, branches, thatched roofs were seen flying as the wind swept at 150 kmph.
Relief and restoration work started soon after the landfall even as the cyclonic storm blew over Odisha and adjoining states, including West Bengal. The landfall process of Cyclone Yaas began at 9 am between north of Dhamra and south of Balasore around Bahanaga coast in Odisha and continued for 3 hours till 1 pm on Wednesday.
