Did you know Vacation Bible School at EBC starts this week? I hope that’s at least been on your radar, but I understand if it snuck up on you. Summer is busy, and we all have our own responsibilities. Regardless, VBS is here, and it is still one of the most important weeks in the life of our church.
As I write this, we have more kids preregistered for VBS than we’ve had in years. Of course, there will be plenty more who will register tomorrow, which means we will have a ton of kids on our campus every day this week to hear about and celebrate the good news of Jesus!
And I mean CELEBRATE! Because, after all, those of us who follow Jesus always have a reason to celebrate, don’t we? As heavy as life can become, Jesus is always there to renew us and give us life—His life!
And VBS is a celebration! Our curriculum this year describes it this way: “It’s an annual opportunity to gather with a captive audience of young ones, pointing them toward the God who loves them and sent His Son to have a relationship with them.”
Isn’t that awesome?
I know we can’t all serve in VBS this week, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be involved. This morning, during my message, I’m going to briefly summarize all five bible stories that our kids will be studying this week as they “Start the Party” with Jesus. I know you’ll be encouraged by what our kids are learning, and now that you’ve been introduced to it, I hope you’ll be intentional about praying for our children and workers each day according to each day’s theme.
Let’s “Start the Party” together, this life-changing celebration of knowing God.
