In this 2005 footage, a camera mounted on the side mirror monitors the host vehicle's blind spot area and detects approaching vehicles and motorcycles from a distance of 50m. The combined analysis of the near and far areas as viewed from the side camera is geared towards indicating to the driver (by means of a Red/Green Led, for example) whether it is safe to change lanes or not.
