Aura - Clair de Lune
The second song of Auras' 3rd album "Pastorale"
*Claude Debussy
*Suite bergamasque, 3rd Movement
-Titled after french poet, Paul Verlaine's work of the same name "Clair de Lune" which refers to bergamasks in its opening stanza:
"Votre âme est un paysage choisi
Que vont charmant masques et bergamasques
Jouant du luth et dansant et quasi
Tristes sous leurs déguisements fantasques."
"Your soul is a chosen landscape
charmed by masquers and revellers
playing the lute and dancing and almost
sad beneath their fanciful disguises!"
Vocal interpretation by Japanese a capella group Aura
Aura uses new arrangements, cited poetry and beautiful harmonics to breath new life into the work of old masters and traditional folk.
