There is a lot going on in #Slovakia - in this is relevant for the #EU. Since the country re-elected former Prime Minister Robert Fico at the end of September 2023, it has gone from being an absolute supporter of Ukraine to a friend of Russia.
Under the pro-European government, Slovakia strongly supported #Ukraine at the beginning of the war of aggression in 2022, but even then, according to a representative survey, more than half of the Slovakian population believed that Ukraine was partly to blame for the war.
Similar things are currently happening in Slovakia in terms of domestic politics. Fico's government has shut down the public broadcaster and initiated controversial judicial reforms.
