To make a favourable impression in an interview, in any communication whether formal or informal, it is helpful to pronounce words well. Whether interviewing, starting a new job wooing a potential suitor, impressing a future boss, building new friendship at a business lunch or dinner, at networking events many native and non-native English speakers get these words wrong. As an ex-investment banker, I have been in many business and semi-business social situations. I have interviewed nearly 800 people formally and more informally. This video includes 15 commonly mispronounced words - and includes both the casual and the Queen's English pronunciation for each word. I do not claim to be an authority on linguistics. The context of this video is the experience I have of interviewing people from 6 continents. I have come across these words during banter or chit-chat preceding, during or following interviews I was involved in. So remember - Mind your language - it's an easy fix. It's important as a first or basic step to interviewing better. At MindWealth, we make humans happier. We also help you interview brilliantly.
