The Flag Palace, also known as Al Alam Palace, is one of the Sultan's six homes. It might not be as fancy as the other royal pads, but it's a big deal culturally. It's got a fancy front with lots of gold and blue. The palace area has this cool guest villa with a pool, spa, and fancy gardens, all walled up nicely.
Omani elites own around 9 properties in London and southern England worth about $100 million. Among them, Haselour House, a 14-acre estate in Staffordshire, features a historic seven-bedroom mansion with impressive fireplaces. Plus, Wonham Manor, bought in 1980 for $35 million, has an 800-meter lake and deer fields.
*Extravagant Megayachts*
The 509-foot Al Said, owned by Oman's ruling family, is a $600 million megayacht, ranking as the world's 7th largest. Sultan Qaboos commissioned it, and the owner's suite is fit for royalty with a huge bedroom, dressing room, and various amenities. The yacht has ample space for 70 guests, featuring medical facilities, meeting rooms, a private cinema, and Omani-inspired interiors crafted by local artisans.
The Fulk Al Salamah Yacht, known as the Ship of Peace, is the second-largest yacht globally after the Lurssen Azzam. Since 2016, it has been part of the Oman Royal Yacht Squadron. It's equipped with a helipad, beauty salon, beach club, and conference facilities, making it an exceptional superyacht. According to the reports, it has a price tag of $500 million.
*Massive Fleet of Aircraft*
The Royal Flight of Oman has many government planes for the royal family's use, including Boeing 747s, Airbus A320s, a Gulfstream G550, Lockheed Martin C-130 Super Hercules, and helicopters like the Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma II and Eurocopter AS550 Fennec. They have their own support facilities, with the aircraft named after places in Oman, all showcasing Arabic script on their fuselages.
*Ultra-Generous Gifts*
Royalty usually keeps things on the down-low, and their fancy stuff usually stays behind palace doors. But, in a rare instance, we found out that Sultan Qaboos bin Said had this blinged-out little model of the British royal family's coronation coach made for Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 to celebrate her diamond jubilee. It was a hefty gift, decked out in lapis lazuli and precious gems, took over a year to craft, and now it's in the late queen's personal stash.
*Remarkable Royal Cavalry*
The Omani royal family has a massive collection of Arabian horses, and we're talking more than a thousand of them. This all started back in 1974 when Sultan Qaboos, who just loved horses, got things going. They're all about preserving Oman's horse breeding traditions and equestrian stuff. The Royal Cavalry is based in Al-Adiyat, Seeb, but they've gone global with places in Safinat, Qadihat, Shumookh stables, France, and the UK. And they really impressed Queen Elizabeth II during her platinum jubilee near Windsor Castle.
