The Rev. Dr. Nick Works, associate director of Wesley's field education program - Practice in Mission and Ministry - and Wesley Professor of New Testament Dr. Carla Works are leading "In The Footsteps of Paul," a PMM immersion in Turkey and Greece this week.
Today, Dr. Nick Works send us greetings from Pergamum, site of one of the churches mentioned in The Book of Revelation. This brief video shows the Temple of Trajan at the city's Acropolis.
A note from Dr. Nick: "In Rev., 2 John writes to the churches in Pergamum. He says, “I know where you live, where the throne of Satan is, yet you are holding fast to my name.” Many believe the Altar of Zeus is the throne of Satan that John is referencing. We, the Wesley seminary group, gathered to sing Praise to the true God and ruler of the universe singing "Holy, Holy, Holy!"
