Algarve located in the South of Portugal, it is stretched approximately 160 kilometers (100 miles) long. It is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, clear turquoise water, hidden coves and hundreds of stunning rock formations, towering cliffs. The region has a rich history with influences from the Moors, Romans, and Portuguese.
This region is heaven for people that like beaches. Any beach you go is nice. To me this is the best beaches that I visited so far. Every beach is uniquely beautiful with its own rock formations and caves.
Popular cities in Algarve region are Faro, Lagos, Portimao and Albufeira, offering many activities for tourists including water sports, hiking the rocks, shopping, and dining. Many nice resort and golf resorts too.
To go to Algarve we can fly to Faro, but driving from Lisbon is just fine, a nice drive for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, using A2 to the South.
This particular video was made in Ponta da Piedade, we drove 2.7 miles South of Lagos, then walked to the end of the pathways, and went down the hill to reach the cove. The scenery is amazing, it should be made one of our travel bucket list.
The 1 hour boat ride boat ride costs 25 Euros/ person, no reservation is fine, they're only accepting cash. But there are also many other companies that offers boat rides and activities such as kayaking from nearby cities such as Portimao and Lagos / marina.
