Professor Lozenski is a faculty member in the Educational Studies Department at Macalester College, specializing in urban and multicultural education. His research explores the intersections of critical participatory action research, Black intellectual traditions in education, and cultural sustainability in the education of youth of African descent. He teaches courses that explore the history of African American education in the U.S. as the embodiment of liberatory educational theory and practice, critical issues in urban education, and education and social change. Before pursuing his Ph.D, he taught for over a decade in his hometown of Philadelphia and then in his current home of St. Paul.
