This wonderful apéritif brings a pleasant change from our usual Extra brut and Blanc de Blancs we have been tasting as of late. A strong attack, pleasant freshness, structure and balance.
Flavors of honeysuckle, vanilla and brioche notes lends to a beautiful nose, one I found myself lost in on several occasions, the aroma of the Champagne is like perfume.
The Brut Réserve is a blend in equal parts of pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay from 30 different crus. 25% reserve wines is used to produce this cuvée:
- The Pinot Noiris mainly from the Montagne de Reims.
- The Pinot Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne and Epernay .
- The Chardonnay comes Epernay and the Côte des Blancs.
Aged four years in cellars. We both really enjoyed the Champagne. It was a bit sweet for my taste, but Kris and I felt it was enjoyable and an excellent champagne
The structure, acid, and freshness, makes this the ideal Champagne to be served as an apéritif. Tthe Acidity will hold up to a full meal, Chicken, and white fish. I would recommend keeping the dinner light.
