In the annals of history, the outgoing year 2011 will be marked, first of all, by the fact that the Admiralteiskaya station finally appeared on the scheme of the St. Petersburg metro, which, even before the opening, broke two records at once: it became not only the deepest station of the St. the deepest stations in the world, and also marked the completion of the largest long-term construction in the history of the metro construction of the city of St. Petersburg.
In the first project, a plot was allotted for ground structures at the corner of Gogol Street, and now Malaya Morskaya and Kirpichny Lane. There was a residential building on this site that was supposed to be demolished. But the residents of the city did not support the idea. The main argument was "preservation of the appearance of Nevsky Prospekt." In addition, the house intended for demolition had a memorial character. It was the first building to be restored in Leningrad after the war.
The ground pavilion of the station can be located no more than 300 meters from the main object of the metro line. To solve this problem in the central part of the city, where almost every building has a cultural and historical value, the builders had to go around the entire area and explore all the buildings. They managed to choose 12 options for the location of the vestibule, among which were: Alexander Garden, the intersection of Gorokhovaya Street and Admiralteysky Prospekt, the arch of the General Staff Building.
In 1986, the station appeared as part of the 5th line between Sadovaya and Sportivnaya. After considering numerous options in the early 90s, the builders returned to the original option - the demolition of a residential building. The mayor of the city, Anatoly Sobchak, signed a decree that prescribed the resettlement of three houses, followed by the demolition and partial resettlement of nine on Kirpichny Lane and Malaya Morskaya Street. The place was ideal for the organization of passenger traffic, but from the point of view of sinking an inclined course, it caused a lot of difficulties.
In 1991, work began on the construction of the main underground structures - tunnels and the station hall. The most problematic stage was the sinking of the inclined course. The difficulty was in unstable soils, located throughout the route. In addition, the builders had to work on the site, which turned out to be two times smaller than required by the norms. Due to the difficult economic situation, it was not possible to fulfill the mayor's order to resettle residential buildings, and work on the construction of the inclined passage was postponed indefinitely.
In 1997, the construction of the Sadovaya-Chkalovskaya section was completed. Trains passed Admiralteyskaya without stopping, as there was still no escalator tunnel at the station. In 2005, information began to appear that the building belonging to the University of Telecommunications. M. A. Bonch-Bruevich on the Moika embankment. This option was abandoned due to its inconvenient location relative to the transport hub.
In the same year, work was resumed on the construction of a platform in the central hall of the station and service premises. Metrostroy continued the construction of a small slope and an approach corridor. Under the pavement of Kirpichny Lane, a vertical well was drilled through which concrete was supplied to the underground structure.
Despite the resumption of construction work, the problem with the demolition of the house at the corner of Kirpichny Lane was not resolved. Settlement was slow, many apartments were privatized by that time. In 2007, according to the Decree of the city government, the land plot, apartments and premises in this building were seized for “state needs”. The last tenant left the house in 2009. Of the twelve houses that were supposed to be demolished according to Sobchak's Decree, only one was dismantled.
In 2010, the final stage of the construction of the station began. Loading and unloading of materials was carried out according to a special schedule. The builders worked in three shifts. In order to comply with the requirements of the law “On Administrative Liability for Violating Peace and Peace at Night”, an inflatable pneumoframe structure was erected over the construction site of the inclined course. It not only provided sound insulation, but also carried out hydro and thermal protection.
