The end of the great Ice Age shaped the world we live in today. As masses of water poured into the ocean when the ice caps melted, the sea level rose over 400 feet, swallowing with it some of the most prized coastal lands. All traces of people who lived on this land is now stuck in time below the sea. Starting on the Ryukyu chain of islands off the southern coast of Japan, on a tiny island called Yonaguni , new evidence at the bottom of the sea has emerged, and could overturn everything archaeologists believe about the origins of civilization.
