The town of Göppingen is located in Baden-Stuttgart Württemberg's Region in southern Germany. It serves as the district's administrative center. The toy maker Märklin is based in Göppingen, which is also where football player Jürgen Klinsmann was born.

Approximately 70 kilometers east of Stuttgart and 48 kilometers north of Ulm, in the eastern region of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, sits Aalen, a former Free Imperial City. It is the largest town in the area and the capital of Ostalbkreis. Additionally, it is the biggest town in Ostwürttemberg.
