The bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus) is a migratory songbird that breeds in grasslands in southern Canada and the northern USA. Due to steep population declines in recent decades, the bobolink is listed as threatened by the governments of Ontario and Canada.
Bird Ecology and Conservation Ontario (BECO) has been conducting bobolink research to fill knowledge gaps and test new conservation strategies since 2016. This video provides a glimpse of the bobolink, using footage captured by Gerald Morris, BECO Field Biologist, during field research activities in 2017 and 2018.
