£99 may sound like a bargain for a lip filler treatment, but this is an example of why it is NOT a good idea!
This woman went to a newly qualified nurse injector who offers filler treatments 'on the side for extra money'. Having lived with this lopsided top lip for a few months and feeling terribly self-conscious about it, she came to see me for some help.
Here are a few things that 'injectors' do to be able to offer a filler treatment at such a rock bottom price. THINK VERY CAREFULLY if this is what or how you want lip filler injected into your body:
1) BEGINNERS CHARGE CHEAPER PRICES - Think about it. How else will they get people to practice on? You will be the subject of someone who lacks both the experience and skills, practising UNSUPERVISED on your FACE!
2) CHEAP FILLER APPOINTMENTS ARE RUSHED - Usually 15 minutes, and you usually can have the treatment in the same appointment. This means there is very little alloted for consultation, if any at all!

3) THEY BUY THEIR FILLERS FROM UNVERIFIED SELLERS - cheaper fillers can be bought online from unauthorised sellers. These fillers may have been stored incorrectly and may not last as long.
4) SHARING OF SYRINGES - Have you ever been quoted '0.5 ml' or 'half a syringe' for a much cheaper price? There are only a small handful of brands which manufacture smaller syringes than the standard 1.0ml per syringe. Offering 'half a syringe' may mean there is SHARING OF SYRINGES. This can lead to cross-contamination, resulting in serious infection and scarring of your face. NO INJECTOR is going to offer you half a syringe at lower than cost and then discard the rest!
5) IT IS PRACTICALLY A HOBBY FOR THEM - Many practitioners offer fillers and Botox 'on the side'. They often say 'I do this on the side for extra money' or 'I only see a few patients on Sunday afternoon'. This may mean they lack the necessary experience.
