The US federal government has joined a class-action lawsuit against McKinsey & Company over its alleged marketing campaigns to boost opioid sales. McKinsey has agreed to pay nearly $600 million in multiple settlements with 49 states, the District of Columbia, and five territories over its work for opioid companies, which states say fueled the opioid epidemic. The settlements resolve investigations into McKinsey's role in helping opioid companies promote their drugs and profiting from the opioid crisis.
