The United States has removed Al-Shabaab's former deputy leader, Sheikh Muktar Robow Abu Mansur from its Reward for Justice list. Abu Mansur had a $5 Million US Dollars bounty placed on him for information leading to his location. Abumansur was one of the original founders of Al-shabaab. He broke ranks with the group due to disagreements with a former leader, Ahmed Abdi Godane, who was killed in a 2014 U.S. missile strike. Abumansur now commands a clan militia after leaving al-Shabaab for his hometown Abal, in Somalia. Security experts in the country see the drop of the bounty on Abumansur as an opportunity to enable him work with the Somali Federal government and also affect the fighters of the Alqaeda linked group Alshabab.
