People try all sorts of neck pain stretches to help relieve the neck pain studying causes, but most of the time people are doing the wrong neck stretches and actually making your neck pain from studying even worse. Reading in bed causes the same stress on your neck.
It can also go from just neck pain to mid back pain as well and part of this is because of forward head posture when you study or read. Rounded shoulders also play a part in this anterior head carriage which is part of the problem that leads to neck and shoulder pain as well as neck pain and headaches.
There are ways to reduce neck pain whilst studying, but most of those ways require you to stop the studying and take a break. In reality spending 8-10 hours or more pouring over revision and reading is not good for you back. You'll find things a lot more comfortable if you take regular breaks!
