On October 16, French schoolteacher Samuel Paty was brutally murdered after he showed the controversial Charlie Hebdo cartoons during a lesson about free speech. Since then, French authorities have been clamping down on radicalisation. In particular, the government wants to focus on the training of imams. A series of agreements have been signed between France and Morocco, whereby future imams go to Rabat to learn what's known as "middle way" Islam, aimed at promoting tolerance.
