Note that this list is in no particular order, as the extensions focus on different aspects of the desktop. The Gnome Shell by itself might not be the optimal thing for some people, but with addons like the ones in this video, it's more usable. There's one thing for sure, and that is these extensions will for sure improve your productivity and efficiency while using your desktop.
