In 1966, Jacqueline du Pré, together with her Davidov cello, toured over 40,000 miles. In spite of being increasingly sought-after, the British cellist found time for a renewed interest in chamber-music with violonist Hugh Maguire and pianist Fou Ts'ong. It was at Fou Ts'ongs home on Christmas Eve that she met pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim, whom she would marry shortly afterwards in Jerusalem.
