To find three equivalent fraction for 5/6, we can multiple 5/6 by the equivalent of 1/1. For example:
5/6 x 1/1 = 5/6
since 1/1 = 1 and multiplying by 1 does not change the value.
If we multiply:
5/6 x 2/2 = 10/12
Here again, since 2/2 = 1 we aren't changing the value, just the way it is written. Both 5/6 and 10/12 are equal to 0.83 (the 3 repeats).
We could also multiply by 3/3, 4/4, 5/5 and so on to find more fractions that are equal to 5/6. As long as we are multiplying by the equivalent of 1, we'll get a fraction that is the same as 5/6.
