This is Summa Sun's 3rd Session. The session lasted for the whole 3 minutes of this video.
We go over the basics of coming to me, head rubs, keeping her head with me when I'm at her side, leading and we added circling.
Although I had the whip, I didn't have to touch her except once. I ask her to move off by lifting the whip. When she moves I lower the whip to relieve the pressure.
If she doesn't move off, as shown, I tap her with the least amount of pressure until she moves off.
If she still didn't respond, I'd tap slightly harder until she did.
As for the attempts to graze, every time she tried, I'd lift the lead, this asks her to lift her head. When walking or circling, I lift the lead and whip, if she doesn't respond, I tap her with the whip.
She does have a cue that tells her she can relax and graze. You couldn't see it when I dropped the lead for her, but I will be sure to get it next session.
**If you ended up hitting your horse or he kicks out, stop. He doesn't know what to do. You need to go back to basics.
NO HORSE SHOULD BE HURT, HIT OR FRIGHTENED...
Summa is a very confident horse and as shown in previous videos, has been taught and shown what to do, before I ask her to perform.
