China is rapidly expanding its nuclear power plant capacity, significantly reducing construction costs and advancing technology. Since the 1970s, they have managed to cut down these costs effectively. India also builds low-cost nuclear power plants. France has an edge in nuclear reactors and advanced technology, being the only European country to use nuclear energy predominantly for electricity.
In contrast, after the 1960s, the USA saw a fivefold increase in nuclear plant construction costs, accompanied by protests against nuclear energy, leading to a lag in nuclear power plant development. Currently, the USA has the highest construction costs for nuclear power plants in the world.
As for India, what does nuclear energy mean to us, and where do we stand in the global nuclear field?
