Well, as if the 25 centimeters of snow dumped on Montreal on February 2nd 2011 wasn't enough to deal with........ even buses were getting stuck in the snow (only those drivers who insisted to get too close to the sidewalk...) as many bus drivers did not take a chance and bring their bus too close to the curb, but stopped a good distance away - and the passengers walked off the curb to get to the bus...
It's quite obvious that bus drivers are NOT instructed on how to maneuver these ddbl section buses to their advantage - when in a jam. If they used the middle pivot point as a fulcrum and then added the buses huge amount of torque to the formula...... wow..... they would have a recipe for success and might even be earning a descent article on their skills in one of our local papers.... . As luck has it - most of them are simply "driving their buses till their shift is over" and that's where it ends.
Too bad we see so many people losing their balance in buses as some drivers seemingly maneuver their buses in a manner that seems as though they are using passengers as "bowling pins", so see how many of them can perhaps fall down - or "accidentally lose their balance and ALMOST FALL"............?
What's that all about anyway?
I spoke with a driver once who confirmed that some drivers joke about doing this - and this driver told me in a very direct and sure manner that "he/she would never do this - in fact - if they ever got bored with their job.... they would simply quit and move on to something else..... but they'd never use humans as a form of "toys - bowling pins" trying to make them lose their balance - and fall.
Nothing is worst than seeing a woman, child or older person wipe out on a bus..... IT'S JUST NOT FUNNY TO ME!
